It has been quite the journey for me since graduating from college - right down to my very graduation. I was granted the wonderful opportunity to take my first international trip to Cannes, France for the 71st Cannes Film Festival and I'm pretty sure my life is changed.

For clarity, I have been in love with France and french culture since I was about 3 years old and spent my early childhood binge watching Madeline, so this was basically a dream come true.

I spent majority of my trip interning with Lionsgate and picking up invaluable skills pertaining to marketing, international distribution, research and a front row seat to the business aspect of the film industry.

When out of the office, I was prancing over to the Parlais to catch film premieres including Spike Lee and Jordan Peele's 'Blackkklansman' and Wanuri Kahiu's 'Rafiki'. I also attended a talk with Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther, Creed and Fruitvale Station which left me wanting to get started on scripts of my own and start creating my own films.

I was beyond inspired for over two weeks and my interest in international films expanded exponentially. Also, the people I met?? Directors, producers, actors, CEO's, CFO's, models - the list goes on.

This event was worth skipping graduation in Connecticut (no worries, I had a ceremony on the red carpet).

Outside of the film world, I didn't miss the opportunity to embrace France. I noticed how different Europeans are compared to Americans from their stance on the environment, their work/life balance, fashion trends and so much more.

One thing I already knew about myself, but had a chance to find out for sure, is that I'm quite the foodie. I love food, I love going out to eat and I love trying new things. I literally refused to eat anything I could find in America, which left me indulging in duck, foie gras (duck liver), lamb, frog legs, and escargot (snails - yum!).
International travel is something I've always wanted to do, and now that I've done it and made my mistakes (Like exchanging currency at the airport), I'm ready for a new adventure.

As a college graduate, I have ample time on my hands and I plan on aligning my career choices with my passions, so, this summer you'll catch me as the video intern for Gizmodo Media Group in NYC, and after that? We'll see!

I expect to write so much more content on here, take plenty of photos, create short films and entertain all of the ideas I had no time to do in college.

Stick with me guys.
