Hey guys!
It's been forever, I know. I've relocated to New York City, landed an amazing job at one of my favorite stores and I live without Wi-Fi. So here I am at Lenox Coffee on 129th St. and I am literally so content, it hurts. All summer I've been trying to figure out what it is I love the most as far as activities and what's 'fun' to me. Honestly, what is there to ACTUALLY do? After you've been to all the museums and seen all the sites, what do people do? Because without Wi-Fi you can't sit around watching people snaps all day or tweet to your hearts desire. So how do people pass time? Why do we feel the need to pass time? I'm getting deep here, but it's all I've been thinking about lately. There are so many activities out there that cost so much money, but for $7.50 and a 10 min. walk, I'm having the time of my life at this coffee shop. #1 - The music playlist is POPPIN - I mean Ready for Love x India Arie is currently playing guys. #2 - The food, the coffee, the vibe is perfect. I didn't need to go to lower Manhattan or Brooklyn for fun, I'm having the time of my life in East Harlem. A few days ago, I attended CurlFest in Prospect Park and honestly, I didn't have as much fun as I'm having right now. I've been trying to understand it. How people can have so much fun at certain events, or clubs and parties and why I could not. I think just coming to terms with what's for me and what is not is really helping my personal growth this summer and I hope you all are able to do the same - or have already done so. Sometimes we think the grass is really greener somewhere else. That our lives will be so much better we had 'such and such' or did 'this and that'. But literally, you can have the time of your life in a small coffee shop in Harlem if you really wanted to. Readjust your lens, and I promise you your outlook on life will be so much better. I'll see you guys the next time I get some Wi-Fi :)
